Theresa J. Harp, 81, East Freedom, died Sunday evening at her residence.

She was born in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Paul and Eva (Knighting) McCabe. On Jan. 28, 1961, she married Richard E. Harp in Defiance.

Surviving are her husband with whom she shared 56 years of marriage; three daughters: Cynthia A. Harp of Newport News, Va., Mary T. Longarini and husband, Ricardo, of Philadelphia, and Melissa Holland and husband, Mark, of Holly Springs, N.C.; three sons: Richard J. and wife, Renee, of Hastings, Edward P. and wife, Lisa, of Roaring Spring, and Matthew T. of Seattle, Wash.; 13 grandchildren: Michael, Kristy, Richard Joseph Jr., Stephanie, Andrea, John, Luke, Caroline, Christopher, Matthew, Anastasia, Aubrey and William; 10 great-grandchildren: Alex, Lexi, Courtney, Taylor, Braydan, Kyler, Kollin, Raylan, Adeline and Mia; and a brother, Paul McCabe of Altoona.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas McCabe.

Theresa was a 1954 graduate of Saxton Liberty High School, and she later graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, Johnstown. She retired as a registered nurse for Garvey Manor Nursing Home, Hollidaysburg, after 27 years of service. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Newry.

She loved her family.

Friends will be received from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 28, 2017, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a vigil service will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 29, 2017, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Father Allen P. Zeth celebrant. Committal will be in old St. Patrick Cemetery, Newry.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Patrick School Fund, Newry.
