Virginia (Nori) Rizzo

Virginia (Nori) Rizzo, 96, Hollidaysburg, died Thursday, February 2, 2017, at Garvey Manor.

She was born June 18, 1920, in Frankstown, daughter of Angelo and Adeline (Polce) Nori. She married Anthony D. Rizzo in 1946. He died in 1977.

Surviving are four nieces: Carol McCoy and husband, Arthur, Emily Padamonsky and husband, Bill, Deborah Glunt and Kathy Kase; four nephews: John Nori and wife, Brenda, Ronald Nori and wife, Sue, Donald Nori and wife, Cathy and Gene Corl; a sister, Helen Johnson; 24 great-nieces and nephews; and many great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brothers: Albert and John; and sisters: Mary DiLucido, Josephine Corl and Isabel Nori.

She was a 1938 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School, and she retired from Butterick Fashion Marketing Co. with 34 years of service as a pattern folder. She was a member of St. Mary’s Guild and the AARP. She was also a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg.

She enjoyed Bingo, casinos, family and eating out with friends.

Friends will be received from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 9, 2017, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a vigil service will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 10, 2017, at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Father Anthony J. Legarski officiating. Committal will be in Calvary Cemetery.
