Alan J. Ansman

Alan J. Ansman, 78, of Altoona, passed away Saturday. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Leroy and Ann (McMullen) Ansman. He married Kathleen Boring in 1971.

Surviving are his wife of 54 years; two daughters: Sharon Burwell and husband, Danial, and Rebecca Luther and husband, Brian; a son, Michael and wife Chrissa; 2 granddaughters: Elizabeth and Emily Burwell; and a sister, Doris Scanlan.

He graduated from Bishop Guilfoyle in 1965 and retired after 40+ years as a warehouse supervisor/driver from Nabisco.

He served in the US Navy as a Radarman on the USS Buchanan during Vietnam and received four Battle Stars.   

Alan attended Sacred Heart Church of Altoona.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Pirates baseball, and was an Altoona Curve season ticket holder, and he loved being a grandad.       

Friends will be received from 12 noon to 1pm, Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at St. Joseph Chapel, Garvey Manor where a Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 1pm with Fr, Lubomir J. Strecok, Celebrant.

Private interment at Alto Reste Park.
