Alice Jean (Steel) Neely

March 20, 1933 – Oct 15, 2023

 Alice Jean (Steel) Neely, 90, of Altoona, passed away Sunday at Maybrook Hills.  She was born in Hollidaysburg, daughter of the late Howard and Alice (Hoover) Steel, and the late Walter Clark.  She married Harold R. Neely, who preceded her in death in 2019 after 68 years of marriage.

Surviving are children: Pat Clark and wife Eleanor, Connie Conroy, Barbara Helsel, Cheryl Saltsgiver and husband Jim, Sharon Merritts and husband Tim; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.

She retired as an upholsterer from Car-Val Furniture after 20+ years.

Jean was a life member of Blair County Game, Fish, and Forestry and served as Axillary President for over 30 years.                         

She enjoyed spending time with her family, hunting, fishing, genealogy, history, and all things outdoors.

Friends will be received from 10am to 12pm on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 12pm. Private interment at Carson Valley Cemetery.
