Amanda Rae Carpenter, 47, of Altoona, passed away peacefully at home on Friday. She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Patricia Sullivan and Ken Carpenter.
Surviving are her care giver, Melissa Hicks of Altoona, with whom she resided; a sister, Amy Seidel (Joseph) in AR; a brother, Darth Dodson of Claysburg; an aunt, Karen Reed; two uncles: Jerry Sullivan and Vincent Burget; a niece, three nephews, and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her special grandmother, “Bappy” in 2011; and two uncles: Brian Sullivan in 2021 and Andrew “Bub” Burget in 2023.
Amanda graduated from High School and loved playing with her cards, drawing pictures, and playing with her doll, Baby Karen. She also enjoyed listening to Billy Ocean. Her favorite day was her birthday, often sharing that her birthday was “Running down the calendar.”
She enjoyed going to Albright Church of the Brethren with her Aunt Karen and was especially fond of Pastor Jonas Hite “The Preacher Man” and Darius Roher “The Candy Man.”
Friends will be received from 5:30-6:30pm on Tuesday, Oct 29, 2024 at Albright Church of the Brethren, Roaring Spring, where a Celebration of Life will immediately follow at 6:30pm.
