Ann R. Burke

March 17, 1944 - October 18, 2023

Ann Rebecca Burke, born in Penns Grove, NJ to the late Joseph S. and Margaretta J. (Riley) on March 17, 1944. She was raised in and called Hollidaysburg, PA home.

She is survived by her siblings: Bernie (Bill), Agnes (Bob, d), Jim (Julia), Mary Lynn (John), Joseph (Rebecca) and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. 

She was preceded in death by father, mother, and her sister, Jane.

She attended St. Michael’s grade school and later graduated high school from Villa Regina in Baltimore, MD with the Class of 1962. After graduating she entered religious life as a School Sister of Notre Dame. She taught for many years in Maryland and Pennsylvania. She was also a grade school principal in Virginia. After leaving religious life, Ann continued her work in education as a teacher for the State of Maryland in the prison system until her retirement. Ann will always be remembered for her love of dogs. 

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 1pm Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at St. Michaels Catholic Church. Cremation service by Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for contributions to be made to the local humane society in remembrance.
