Barbara E. (Walter) Schmidhammer

August 29, 1939 – March 19, 2025

Barbara E. (Walter) Schmidhammer, 85 of Fairlawn, OH, formerly of Hollidaysburg, passed away Wednesday at Cleveland Clinic. She was born in Claysburg to Amos & Lena (Roudabush) Walter, and was their last surviving daughter. She married James P. Schmidhammer on June 16, 1962, who predeceased her in May 2006.

Surviving are a daughter, Janice & Husband Brent, of Akron, OH; and son Kevin & partner Michael of Pittsburgh.

Barbara was a graduate of Class of 1957 Greenfield Kimmel High School. She was employed by Blair County Courthouse in the Court Recorder’s office. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg.

Barbara enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, and had a deep love of animals, especially cats.

Cremation arrangements have been made by Sorge Funeral Home, and a private inurnment will take place at Claysburg Union Cemetery.
