Benjamin A. Shaffer

Benjamin A. Shaffer, 36, of Altoona, passed away Wednesday at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Altoona, son of Thomas and Sharon (Livingston) Shaffer.
Surviving is his parents of Altoona; grandmother, Susan Livingston; and a brother, Jonathan and wife Rachel of West Chester.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Jr.; and grandparents: Bennett and Joan Shaffer, and Alton Livingston.
Ben graduated from Altoona Area High School in 2006 and from Penn State Univ. with a B.S. in Communications. He was employed at Veeder-Root.
He served on the board of Altoona Area Teener Baseball League where he was a coach and umpire.  He was a member of the PSU Alumni Asso., and Eldorado Civic Asso.
Ben enjoyed PSU and Steeler football, he loved coaching and working with kids, and spending time with his family, friends, and dogs.
Friends will be received from 12-2pm and 4-6pm on Monday August 26, 2024 at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will be held at 11am Tuesday. 
Private interment at Alto Reste Park.
