Boyd E. Shaw

Boyd E. Shaw, 90, of Newry, passed away Wednesday at his residence.  He was born in Altoona, son of the late Charles A. and F. Alta (Holland) Shaw.  He married Ruby Harbaugh in 1949.

Surviving are his wife of 72 years; three daughters: Linda Campbell and husband Bill of Newry, Judy Hauser and husband Doug of Mt. Pleasant, and Tracy Frank and husband Jim of Leechburg; seven grandchildren: Kevin, Jess, Cathy, Eric, Brian, Christopher, and Jamie; 17 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a grandson, Scott Hauser in 2017, and siblings: Olive Delozier, Mildred Helsel, Melvin, Amos, and Marion.

He was co-owner of Shaw Packing Company.  Boyd was a charter member of Newry Lions Club, a member of Hollidaysburg Lodge No. 220 F&AM, AASR Valley of Altoona, and the Jaffa Shriners, where he was a member of the Cycle Corps and the Cove Shrine Club.

Boyd was a life-member of Newry Lutheran Church.  He enjoyed hunting, watching football, and spending time with his family.

All services are private at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc.  Interment at Alto Reste Park.
