Carol R. (Zembower) Koontz, 67, of Duncansville, passed away Sunday. She was born in Centerville, daughter of the late Alvin G. and Hazel (Growden) Zembower. She married James L. Koontz Sr. on June 23, 1972.

Surviving are her husband of 50 years; a daughter, Heather Rudnick and husband, Cory, of Duncansville; a son, James Jr. and wife, Colette, of Carlisle; eight grandchildren: Seth, Conner, Benjamin, Alex, Dawson, Sarah, Darla, and Cici; a great granddaughter, Penelope; five sisters: Linda, Cynthia, Jeanne, Connie, and Kim; and two brothers: Thomas and Troy.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Sue and a brother, Gary.

Carol graduated from Bedford High School in 1972 and was a member of the National Honor Society. She worked at Electric Motor Supply for 48 years and at Ward Trucking for 24 years.

Carol was a member of Newry Lutheran Church.

Friends will be received from 11am to noon Monday, April 11, 2022, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a memorial service will immediately follow at noon, Rev. Marty Jo Irvin-Stellabotte officiating.
