Catherine Louise (Houser) Donlan

Catherine Louise (Houser) Donlan, 94, of Hollidaysburg, passed away peacefully at her home, after many years of struggling with dementia.

She was born in Bellwood, daughter of the late Daniel and Marian (Cramer) Houser.  She married Robert E. Donlan, who preceded her in death in 2015.

Surviving are two daughters: Lou Ann Donlan (Linda) and Vicki Latoche (Michael), all of Hollidaysburg; six grandchildren: Nichole Grove and her daughter, Sophie, with whom she resided, Jessica Brennan (Chris), Mathew Leaper (Tammy), Carey Williams (Marty), Robert Donlan (Brigitte), and Brian Donlan (Melanie); 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Judith Rarick; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Donlan; and family friend, Sandy Haller.

She was preceded in death by a son, Randall Donlan and a brother, Eugene Houser.

Louise graduated from Bellwood-Antis High School in 1946. She retired from Sears and Roebuck in 1985, where she worked in the catalogue department.

Louise enjoyed golfing, bowling, camping, and wintering in Florida. She shared many years of friendship as a member of the Sylvan Hills Ladies Golf Association and the Horseshoe Drifters Camping Club.

She was a devout Christian and a member of the former Frankstown Park Missionary Church.

Caring for her family was the most important part of Louise’s life. She shared her time caring for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Holidays were always special family events. She brought joy to all who knew and loved her. She will always be forever in our hearts.

A special thanks to the Kindred Hospice team for their care, compassion, and support. Also, to all the workers who cared for Louise the past six years, especially her “best friend” Lindsey Shaffer Lewis.

Friends will be received from 11am to noon Wednesday November 16, 2022, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will immediately follow at noon.

Private interment at New Canoe Creek Cemetery.
