Catherine Joanne (Witt) Shepherd

Catherine “Kate” Joanne (Witt) Shepherd, 71, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Saturday. She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late Alexander and Mary (Utley) Witt. She married David Shepherd in 1976.

Surviving are her husband of 47 years; a daughter, Heather Pennabaker (Dennis) of New Paris; two sons: Richard Crum of Altoona and Joshua Shepherd of Hollidaysburg; seven grandchildren: Katlynn, Kyler, and Kayla Pennabaker, Preston, and Riley Shepherd, and Ricky and Wyatt Crum; a great-grandson, Garrett Shaffer; a brother, Michael Witt of Altoona; and a lifetime friend, Pam McLaughlin.     

She is preceded in death by three brothers: Robert “Bob”, John “Jack”, and Gerald “Jerry” Witt.

Kate loved traveling to Florida and spending time with her family.

Friends will be received from 4 to 6 pm Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 6 pm with Pastor Jim Balzano officiating.
