Cecelia M. (Hoefler) LaHive

Cecelia M. (Hoefler) LaHive, 66, of Altoona, passed away Tuesday at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late Gerald and Margaret (Piper) Hoefler. She married William C. LaHive in 1986, who preceded her in death in 2023 after sharing 37 years of marriage.

Surviving are her two sisters: Stephanie Scheeler and husband, Max, and Rita Hoefler and husband, Robert; two brothers: Jeffery and wife, Sondra, and William; and many nieces and nephews and their children. She was also survived by her fur babies, Marley and Cami.

She was a 1977 graduate of Altoona High School and graduated from IUP with a bachelor’s degree in law enforcement.

Cecelia retired from Verizon as an installer after 30+ years.

She enjoyed her animals, spending time with friends, and traveling.

Friends will be received from 12 to 2 pm, Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a memorial service will immediately follow at 2pm.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society.

Private interment at Rose Hill Cemetery.
