Charles S. Keagy, 96, Duncansville, died Sunday at his residence.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late William and Jesse (McCracken) Keagy. He married Viola F. Detwiler on Dec. 10, 1949. She preceded him in death on Oct. 14, 2016.
Surviving are a daughter, Charlene O'Dellick and husband, Tom, of New Enterprise; three sons: Gary of Altoona, David of Duncansville and Allen and wife, Colleen, of Lilly; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and two brothers: Richard of Duncansville and Kenneth of Altoona.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald, in 2007; a daughter-in-law, Denise, in 2010; three brothers: William, Raymond and Robert; and three sisters: Grace, Betty and Shirley.
Charles served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from the Conrail Juniata Shops in October of 1982 after 43 years as a power plant attendant. He was a life member of the Williamsburg American Legion Auxiliary Bonner Sollenberger Post 456.
He enjoyed woodworking, baseball, crossword puzzles and serving as a volunteer at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home and the Van Zandt Medical Center.
Friends will be received from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where members of the Blair County Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military honors at 6:00 p.m.
Interment will be at New Canoe Creek Cemetery.
