Colleen Ann “Honey” (Dodson) Ercole, 89, of East Freedom, passed away Friday. She was born in East Freedom, the daughter of the late Leo and Marie (Claar) Dodson. She married Michael J. Ercole on Aug. 18, 1973.
Surviving are her husband of 50 years; a sister, Barbara Leslie; a brother, Vincent Dodson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by siblings: Regina Delozier, Marian Blazevich, Loretta Walter, Paul “Con” Dodson, Raymond Dodson, Lawrence “Mike” Dodson, and Inez Biesinger.
Honey graduated from Hollidaysburg High School in 1952. She worked for the United States Navy as secretary to the General Counsel of the Navy, where she earned many outstanding performance awards.
Honey was an accomplished organist at many churches in Virginia and at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Newry, where she was a member.
Honey enjoyed classical music and singing in various choirs. She was loved and respected by many and was truly a wonderful person.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with
Fr. Allen P. Zeth, Celebrant.
