Dale B. Carson, 84, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Monday at UPMC Altoona. He was born in California, PA, son of the late Harry Dale and Ida (Fulmer) Carson. He married Eleanor Troy in 1959. Surviving are his wife of 60 years; a sister, Doloris Carson Platter of California; and a sister-in-law, Linda Carson of Canonsburg; some cousins, nieces, and nephews. Dale was preceded in death by a brother, David E. in 2012.
He graduated from California High School and California University, then earned a Master’s Degree in Education from William & Mary. Dale served in the US Army and retired as a school teacher from Hollidaysburg High School, where he was a football and basketball coach. He was an active member of the Kiwanis, past president of the Hollidaysburg Area Teacher’s Association, and he was a Past Master of Hollidaysburg Lodge 220 F&AM. Dale was an Elder of the Presbyterian Church, and a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Hollidaysburg. He enjoyed golf and watching football. He was kind and generous and loved by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, October 13, 2020, at First Presbyterian Church, Hollidaysburg. Interment will be at Maple Creek Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements by Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg.
