Dean Elwood Snyder, 89, of Duncansville, passed away Saturday at the Hollidaysburg Veterans’ Home. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Robert J. and Anna May (Williams) Snyder. He married Twila M. Focht in 1956, who preceded him in death in 2019.
Surviving are three daughters: Donna L. McCoy of Roaring Spring, Sylvia L. Boyles in MO, and Tammy S. Knepp of Duncansville; four sons: Dean R. of Hollidaysburg, Richard P., and William J., both of Duncansville, and Matthew L. of Hollidaysburg; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and two brothers: Dennis and William.
He was preceded in death by a son, John and a grandson, Nathan.
Dean served in the US Navy during Korea and then retired from Conrail as a car inspector.
He was a member of Foot of Ten Independent Baptist Church, where he was involved with the XYZ.
Dean enjoyed hunting, fishing, and antique bottle collecting.
Friends will be received from 1 to 4pm Wednesday April 27, 2022, at Foot of Ten Independent Baptist Church, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 4pm with Pastor Dave Huston and Pastor John Leatherman officiating.
Interment at Dry Run Cemetery.
