Dennis M. Childers, 69, of Saxton, passed away Tuesday at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Langdondale, son of the late Chester and Emma (Sphan) Childers.
Surviving are his wife, Dixie of 36 years; three sons: Chester and wife, Trisha, Christopher and wife, Brianna, and Corey and companion, Brandy; a stepdaughter, Misty Lingenfelter; thirteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; three brothers: Phillip and wife, Rosie, Chester and wife, Connie, and George and wife, Barb.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Calvin and sister, Paula.
Dennis worked for the railroad for 37 years. He was a member of Six Mile Run Sons of the American Legion Post 556, and a life member of Saxton Sportsmen Association, Six Mile Run Area Volunteer Fire Company, and the Saxton VFW Post 4219.
Dennis enjoyed his life to the fullest. He loved the outdoors and being with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. Dennis will be sadly missed by everyone.
