May 25, 1943 – June 29, 2024
Dennis G. “Den” Harnish, 81, of Hollidaysburg, passed away surrounded by love on Saturday at Garvey Manor. He was born in Hollidaysburg, son of the late Gilbert H. and Violet E. (Bice) Harnish. On April 9, 1976 in Winchester Va, he was united in marriage to Betty L. (Fyan) Harnish.
Surviving are his wife, Betty; a daughter, Pamela (Langenbacher) Dionisio and husband, Kevin of Hollidaysburg; a grandson, Anthony Dionisio and wife, Clorisa; two great-grandsons: Thomas (Peanut) and Deluca. He also has three nieces and a nephew that he loved very much.
He was preceded in death by his sister Margery Johnston of Hollidaysburg.
Dennis was a 1962 graduate of Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School. Immediately after high school, he enlisted in the United States Airforce. After his service was completed in December of 1968, he was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant. He retired in 1998 after a successful engineering career at Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
He enjoyed watching football, especially Penn State and the Steelers. He also enjoyed hunting and traveling.
His family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Garvey Manor for the exemplary care and love that they gave to him for the past few years.
Friends will be received from 4 to 6pm Wednesday July 3, 2024, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service with full military honors will immediately follow at 6pm.
Private interment at Alto Reste Park.
