Douglas Barry Obituary

June 3, 1947 – Feb 22, 2021

Douglas M. Barry, 73, of Lakemont, passed away Monday at the Village at Morrison’s Cove. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Donald and June (Horner) Barry. He married Bonnie Lee in 1966.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years, three daughters: Kimberly Walter and husband Mark of Hollidaysburg, Kellie Alianiello and husband Rocco of Hollidaysburg, and Kasey Frazier of Claysburg; five grandchildren: Mackenzie, Blake, Joslyn, Autumn, and Trevor; and a sister, Donna Barry.

Doug graduated from Hollidaysburg High School in 1965, then immediately enlisted in the USAF, where he served as a Sergeant in Alaska during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of Hollidaysburg American Legion Post 516 and the Hollidaysburg Boosters.

Doug was lead singer for Bob & the Raiders in the 60’s and he loved attending the various activities of his grandchildren. He loved his canine partner, Bodie.

The family offers wishes to express their deep gratitude to the staff at the Village at Morrison’s Cove for providing Doug with excellent personalized care during the final chapter of his life.
