Edward Garlena

Sept 7, 1949 - April 10, 2026

Edward G. Garlena, 76, of Lakemont passed away Friday. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Edward W. and Mary Jane (Bushby) Garlena. He married Nancy Wiedemer in 1972.

Surviving are his wife of 53 years and a daughter, Elizabeth Garlena.   

He graduated from St. Charles College in Catonsville, MD.

Ed worked in IT and retired from the Blair County Adult Probation Office in 2017.  

He was a member of AMBUCS, and was a 4th Degree Knight in Knights of Columbus Star of the Sea Council 4245.

Ed enjoyed electronics, volunteering at the St. Vincent DePaul Needs Office, and reading.

Friends will be received from 3 to 5pm Thursday, April 16, 2026 at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a Vigil service will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon Friday, April 17, 2026 at St. John the Evangelist Church, Lakemont.

Private interment at Calvary Cemetery.
