Elizabeth C. (Hicks) Swope

Elizabeth C. (Hicks) Swope, 83, of Hollidaysburg, went home to be with the Lord on Monday.  She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late John S. and Margaret M. (Prough) Hicks.  She married Kenneth E. Swope in 1959, he preceded her in death in 2015.

Surviving are two sons: Carl H. and wife Sandy of Claysburg, Kevin C. and wife Chrystal of Duncansville; five grandchildren: Kenneth III, Thomas, Kala, Marli, Britan; three great grandchildren: Keaton, Sadie, Tucker.  She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Jr., and an infant son, Russell.

Betty graduated from Scotland School for Veterans Children in 1957 and was a cafeteria worker for many years.

Betty was an active member of Juniata Valley Gospel Church, where she was a member of Kim’s Krew, which provided meals for shut-ins.

She was a member of Fish Club and enjoyed quilting, quilling, crafts.  She enjoyed traveling around the United States with her husband, and most recently, with her best friend, Molly Edgar.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and attending her grandchildrens’ events.

All services are private at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg.  Interment at Grandview Cemetery.
