Ellen J. (Hodge) Walter

Ellen J. (Hodge) Walter, 68, Claysburg, passed away Friday at UPMC Altoona. 

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Louis S. and Martha J. (Diehl) Hodge. 

Surviving are her son, Gabriel R. of Claysburg; a grandson, Bryce; sisters: Linda Hodge and Jeanenne Hodge-George, both of Hollidaysburg, Lori Hengst and husband, Donnie, of East Freedom, and Jennifer Bittner and husband, Christopher, of Pleasant Gap; and brothers: James and wife, Leen, and Jerry and wife, Sandy, all of Duncansville. 

She was preceded in death by a son, Matthew. 

She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and Ellen enjoyed helping others.

Friends will be received from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2019, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a vigil service will be held. 

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Newry. 

Committal will be at Greenlawn Cemetery.
