Elsie M. Williams, 94, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Friday. She was born at home in Hollidaysburg, daughter of the late HB and Thelma (Yingling) Williams.
Surviving are six nephews: Athan Tsarouhas and wife Sheila of Atlanta, GA, Antonio Tsarouhas and wife Linda of Akron, OH, and Alex Tsarouhas and wife Dr. Maria of Avon, CT, Mark and wife Ellen of Silver Spring, MD; Mitch and wife Stacey of Summerville, SC; and Matthew of Ellicott City, MD.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara A. Tsarouhas, and a brother, Benjamin Williams.
Elsie graduated from Hollidaysburg HS and earned a master’s in education from Penn State University.
She retired from Baker Elementary School after 30+ years as a teacher.
Elsie was a member of Hollidaysburg Chapter No. 471 OES, and Blair Garden Club.
She was an active member of the Hollidaysburg FUMC for many years.
Elsie loved animals and supported the ASPCA. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed landscaping well into her 90’s.
A memorial service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, Sept 13, 2025 at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc, Hollidaysburg with Rev. Dr. John A. Godissart officiating.
