Elwood E. Ritchey

July 19, 1936 – April 10, 2022

Elwood E. Ritchey, 85, of Lakemont, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday.  He was born in Claysburg, son of the late William and Jennie (Weyant) Ritchey.  He married Marlene Spade in 1972.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years; two sons: Jeremiah Spade and fiancé Tonya of Altoona, and Jerri Spade of Altoona; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson; a sister, Margaret Hightower; two brothers Ken and Dennis Ritchey; a special son, Robert Richardson of Hollidaysburg.  He was preceded in death by an infant son, Woody, and 13 siblings.

He graduated from Claysburg High School in 1955 and retired from Mattern Orchard and then worked as a logger.

Elwood was a former member of the Claysburg Church of God.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time in Potter County.  Elwood loved God and his family.

Friends will be received from 3-5pm on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 5pm.  Interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Blue Knob.
