July 4, 1927 – May 21, 2024
Ethel M. (Forsht) Cassidy, 96 of Hollidaysburg, passed away Tuesday at her residence. She was born in Duncansville, the daughter of the late John and Flora (Craig) Forsht. She married Bernie Cassidy, who preceded her in death in 2011 after sharing 61 years of marriage.
Surviving are two daughters: Susan Burtnett and husband Richard of Mechanicsburg, and Nancy Cassidy of Hollidaysburg; a son, John and wife Janet of Hollidaysburg; two grandsons: Luke and Patrick and wife Lyndsay; two great-granddaughters: Ella and Ava.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Forsht.
Ethel graduated from Hollidaysburg High School in 1945, and retired as a clerk from the Prothonotary Office of the Blair County Courthouse.
She was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church and enjoyed being with her family and reading.
Friends will be received from 5-7 pm on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a Vigil service will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am Wednesday at St. Mary Roman Catholic, Hollidaysburg, Church with Fr. Alan E. Thomas, Celebrant.
