Ethel J. (Ritchey) Shaw

May 23, 1926 – April 1, 2023

Ethel “Mum” (Ritchey) Shaw, 96 of Duncansville, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday.

She was born in Blue Knob, daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Bowser) Ritchey.  She married Millard D. Shaw, who preceded her in death in 2006 after sharing 60 years of marriage.

Surviving are nine daughters: Joan Ebersole, Linda Miller (Tim), Cindy Pfister (Steve), Jackie Estreicher (Sid), Sherry Pfister (Rob), Trena Czuba (Dave), Maureen Johnson (Mark), Lori Gochnour (Bruce), Jennifer Herman (Mike); three sons: Randy (Kathy), Mark (Rhonda), Michael (Roni Sue); 19 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren; two brothers: Jack and Ken Ritchey.  She was preceded in death by siblings: Marie Lingenfelter, Bob Ritchey, Bill Ritchey, Kathryn Imler, and Betty Morgan.

Mum was a homemaker and a member of Vicksburg Grace Brethren Church, where she served on the Hospitality Committee.

She enjoyed family picnics, campfires, and family time.

Friends will be received from 4-6pm on Tuesday April 4, 2023 at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 6pm.

Private interment at Carson Valley Cemetery.
