April 9, 1931 – Feb 25, 2024
Frederick J. Colabrese, 92, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Sunday surrounded by his family. He was born in Pittsburgh, son of the late Pasquale and Rose (Sciullo) Colabrese. He married Diana M. Johnston, who preceded him in death in 2019 after sharing 58 years of marriage.
Surviving are two daughters: Donna M. Gagnon and husband Rick in VA, and Jill Hileman and husband Dan of Hollidaysburg; two sons: Ron and wife Lisa of Pittsburgh, and Dan and wife Michele in AL; 11 grandchildren: Megan, Ben, Katelyn, RJ, Lauren, Hope, Audrey, Taylor, Allison, Meredith, and Jacob; five great-grandchildren: Grace, Levi, Ben, Jase, and Grey; and a sister, Ann Laman.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carole, in 2017 and a brother, Theodore.
Fred earned a BS in Pharmacy from Duquesne University and retired from the VA Hospital. He served in the US Army during the Korean War.
He was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, where he sang in the choir for over 50 years.
Fred especially loved his family. He enjoyed gardening and entertaining family and friends with songs and his accordion.
Friends will be received from 10am to 12pm Friday, March 1, 2024, at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, where a funeral Mass will immediately follow at 12pm, with Fr. Alan E. Thomas, Celebrant.
