Gail K. Bracken Sr.

July 12, 1943 – Sept 27, 2021

Gail K. “Pap” Bracken Sr., 78, of Bedford, passed away Monday at UPMC Altoona.  He was born in Johnstown, son of the late Forrest and Alma Jean (Colbert) Bracken.  He married Jane Troska, who preceded him in death in 2009.

Surviving are daughters: Cherie Campbell in GA, Christine Lapp of Indiana, Robin Showalter in TX, Candice Barlak of Seward, Wendy Linn in TX, Melissa Bracken of Seward, and Holly Griffith in TX; sons: Gail K. Jr. “Budda” of New Florence, Shawn Showalter in TX; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Phil Troska.  He was preceded in death by siblings: Marion Simon, Russell and Barbara Bracken.

Gail loved watching all Pittsburgh sports teams, NASCAR, car shows, and feeding the ducks at Fort Bedford Park.  He had a very quick wit and made people around him smile.  He was an avid softball player.
