Gene F. Beard

Gene F. Beard, 82, of Duncansville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday. He was born in Duncansville, son of the late Olive (Hoover) Beard. He married Shirley Frederick on April 11, 1960.

Surviving are his wife of 64 years; two daughters: Christine Wenner and Deborah Stratton; two sons: Jeff and wife Cheri and Matt; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Javits; and three brothers: Bernard, Leon, and Bob.

He was preceded in death by two granddaughters: Kara and Tiffany; and four siblings.

Gene retired as a maintenance worker from UPMC Altoona after 40 years service. He was a member of Carson Valley Church of the Brethren.

Gene loved bowling, fishing, and hunting.

Friends will be received from 10am to 12pm Friday June 7, 2024, at Carson Valley Church of the Brethren, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 12pm with Pastor Bradley Runkle officiating.
