Gertrude "Kay" (Helsel) Merritts

Gerturde “Kay” (Helsel) Merritts, 86, of Duncanville, passed away Sunday. She was born in Roaring Spring daughter of the late Clyde and Anna (Kifer) Helsel. She married James Merritts who preceded her in death 1991.

Surviving are her daughter, Brenda Merritts of Altoona; two sons: Brian and Troy Merritts, both of Hollidaysburg; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a son, Tom in 2018.

She loved to dance and take care of others.

Friends will be received 10am to 12 noon, Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg where a funeral service will immediately follow.

Private interment at New Canoe Creek Cemetery.
