Greta Halbritter

March 7, 1972 – Sept 28, 2021

Greta Halbritter, 49, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Tuesday at her residence, after an extended battle with appendiceal cancer.  She was born in Altoona, daughter of Robert and Dianne (Donnelly) Halbritter.

Surviving are her mother of Hollidaysburg; her father and his wife, Judith Ann Halbritter of Duncansville; a brother, Bump Halbritter (57), a sister-in-law Julie Ann (50), a nephew, Sawyer Kies (18) and a niece Bennett Dianne (16) of Michigan; and her two beloved dogs: Rex and Murphy.

Greta graduated from Hollidaysburg Area High School in 1990 and from Penn State University in 1996 with a B.S. in Art Education and a minor in Theatre Arts. She was an art teacher in the Hollidaysburg Area School District, at Penn-Mont Academy, and at the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art.

She was an accomplished visual artist, actress, and vocalist. Greta loved singing and laughing, and she had a passion for equity and diversity. Greta wanted every person to be treated as a person.
