Hazel E. (Shumaker) Hetrick

Hazel E. (Shumaker) Hetrick, 88, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Tuesday. She was born in Liverpool PA, daughter of the late John and Cordelia (Hebel) Shumaker. She married Robert M. Hetrick in 1954, who preceded her in death in 2015.

Surviving are four daughters: Amy Leavens (Bruce), Catherine Ketner (Jeffrey), Carolyn Hetrick (Laura), and Ellen Leahey (Harold), all of Hollidaysburg; seven grandchildren: Mark Leavens (Shelly), Bradley Ketner, Joanna Leavens (Theo), Bryan Ketner (Suzy), Jamie Mountain (Kenny), Ben Robinson (Rachael), Caitlyn Ketner (John); nine great-grandchildren: Alexis, Landon, James, Oz, Sawyer, Sloan, Van, JJ, and Corey; a sister, Nancy Hughes; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother.

Hazel graduated from William Penn High School in 1951 and retired as a secretary from the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Hollidaysburg, where she was active in the Stitch and Sew Group.                        

Hazel enjoyed knitting, sewing, reading, going to the beach, and attending and tailgating PSU football games.

All services are private at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg.
