James “Jimmy” R. Shelow Jr., 53, of Hollidaysburg, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones, on Tuesday. He was born in Altoona, a son of Pattie Markley and the late James R. Shelow Sr. and his stepfather Robert Harpster.
Surviving are his loving fiancé, Nicole Conway, and her daughter, Bella, whom he loved like his own; his mother and her partner, Phillip Bottenfield, of Duncansville; a brother, Kris; two nieces, Grace and Julia; a stepsister, Barbara Harpster; and a stepbrother, Tom Harpster.
He was a 1991 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He then began his career at National Imprint in 1992 as a press operator, later advancing to second-shift supervisor. He had worked as a paint prepper for Cumming Motors since 2002.
Jimmy loved late model dirt track racing, whether helping his friends work on the car during race night or cheering from the stands. He enjoyed throwing darts in league play, spending time with his family, and riding sport bikes as well as his Harley. Above all, he cherished making memories with his fiancé — from concerts, to trying new restaurants, to visiting their favorite pizza places, and traveling to Florida to visit family.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. on January 11, 2026, at The American Legion Social Hall. 1501 N Juniata St, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648 where a memorial service will immediately follow at 3pm.
Cremation services by Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg.
