Jane L. (Yingling) Byrne, 77, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Thursday, surrounded by her family. She was born in Puzzletown, daughter of the late David L. and Jane E. (Miller) Yingling. She married Kevin Byrne in 2004.
Surviving are her husband of 20 years; two daughters: Elizabeth Bowers and husband Jeff of Altoona, and Cristy Walker and husband Clint of McVeytown; five grandchildren: Hunter, Brittany, Allison, Michael, and Kaylee; and two great-grandchildren: Ian and Charlie; three sisters: Roberta Howard, Sally Noel, Ann Singer; three brothers: David, Richard, and Mike Yingling; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jane graduated from Central HS in 1964 and worked as a cook at the Presbyterian Home and retired from the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home in 2007.
She was an active member of St. John the Evangelist Church, where she served as a Sacristan.
Jane enjoyed gardening, shopping, her “sister days” on Tuesdays, and her cat, Salem.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7pm Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a Vigil service will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am Thursday at St. John the Evangelist Church with Msgr. Michael A. Becker, Celebrant.
