Janet M. (Longenecker) Karlie

Janet M. (Longenecker) Karlie, 81, of Duncansville, passed away Friday. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Harry and Edna (Johnson) Longenecker. She married Terry G. Karlie in 1972.

Surviving are her husband of 54 years; a daughter, Tabitha Rhodes; three sons: Troy, Terry, and John; nine grandchildren: Tawny, Draven, Kaiden, Gavin, Kali, Keanu, Dalton, Cullen, and Corey; a great grandson, Royce; a sister, Bonnie Neil; and three brothers: Harry, Greg, and Jim Longenecker.

She was preceded in death by a son, Zachary Smola in 2024.

Janet was a 1963 graduate of Altoona High School and was a homemaker.  

She was the matriarch of her family and spent her life taking care of her husband and family. 

Janet enjoyed crafting, sewing, and going to the casino with her husband. She will be terribly missed by all who knew her.

Friends will be received 12 noon to 2pm Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 2pm. 

Private interment at Calvary Cemetery.
