Janet L. (Daughenbaugh) Reed

Janet L. (Daughenbaugh) Reed, 83 of Altoona, passed away Wednesday.  She was born in Detroit, MI, daughter of the late Jesse and Violet (Lytle) Daughenbaugh.  She married Eugene Reed, who preceded her in death 1982 after sharing 26 years of marriage.

Surviving are two daughters: Lori Reed and husband Johnny of Altoona, and Amy Reed of Altoona; three sons: Frank, Mark, and Randy, all of Altoona; 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; and a brother, Charles Daughenbaugh.

Janet was preceded in death by a son, David in 2024; a grandson, Zachary in 2013; and a fiancée, Danny Fortson.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed being with her family.  She enjoyed camping and taking care of her grandchildren.  Janet was a 20-year cancer survivor.

A memorial service will be held at 10am Wednesday Feb 12, 2025, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg.
