Janet G. (Stiffler) Woods

Janet G. (Stiffler) Woods, 89, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Wednesday at Presbyterian Village. She was born in Hollidaysburg, daughter of the late Oakley R. Sr. and Mary E. (Grant – Dell) Stiffler. She married Thomas C. Woods in 1955, who preceded her in death in 2013 after sharing 57 years of marriage. 

Surviving are a daughter, Vicki Petty of Brookes Mills; a son, Tracy and wife, Sheila, of Duncansville; 5 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and her best friend, Marcia Martin.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kandy A. Butler in 2021; a son, Kevin E. Woods in 2022; and many siblings.

Janet was a 1953 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. She retired from the PA Dept. of Transportation, after 31 years, where she worked in accounting. 

She was a member of AFSCME Chapter 13, PARSE, and Duncansville VFW Post 8724.

Janet enjoyed shopping, reading, John Wayne, visiting with others, and going out to eat.

Friends will be received from 2-4pm Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg where a funeral service will immediately follow at 4pm.
