Jean P. (Yingling) Whetstine, 87, of Altoona, passed away Monday at Maybrook Hills. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Ralph and Helen (Arthurs) Yingling. Surviving are three daughters: LeeAnn Heister (Dennis Johnson) of James Creek, June Ferguson of Lakemont, Susan Nause of Altoona; two sons: Vernard and wife Noelle of Mechanicsburg, and Michael of Altoona; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great grandchildren.

She retired from Garvey Manor as an aide, and then worked as private care giver. Jean was a member of Lakemont UMC. She enjoyed playing cards and Bingo, camping, and spending time with her family.
