Jo Ann (Bashore) Kovensky

Jo Ann (Bashore) Kovensky, 91, of Hollidaysburg passed away Wednesday at The Village of Morrison Cove. She was born in Saxton, daughter of the late Herman and Mae (Heffner) Bashore. She married William “Bill” Kovensky on October 23, 1953, who preceded her in death in 2013.

Surviving are two daughters: Deborah K. Benton of Altoona and Susan M. Kovensky of Hollidaysburg; a son, W Michael and wife, Sandra of Hollidaysburg; one grandson, Christopher; and a special niece, Marianne Hofer.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Shriver.

Jo Ann was a 1951 graduate of Saxton Liberty High School and was a member of the Altoona First Church of God.

She enjoyed helping others.

A Celebration of Life dinner will be held at a later date. 

Private inurnment at New St. Mary Cemetery.
