John C. Hicks

June 29, 1951- Dec 27, 2023 

John C. Hicks, 72, of Martinsburg, passed away Wednesday at Conemaugh Nason Hospital. He was born in Williamsburg, son of the late John D. and Ruth L. (Dilling) Hicks. He married Joyce M. Murphy, who preceded him in death in 2018.

Surviving are a daughter, Tammy Woomer; three grandchildren: Bailey, Grace, Ethan; three sisters: Phyllis, Rosie, and Tammy; three brothers: Ed, Ray, Vernon; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Nathaniel; a sister, Bonnie; and his companion, Mary Maybush.

John graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1970.

He enjoyed camping, hunting, and his hunting dogs.

Friends will be received from noon to 1pm on Wednesday January 3, 2024, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 1pm.           

Private interment at Carson Valley Cemetery.
