John F. Mallow, 75, of Altoona passed away Monday. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Harold R. and Carolyn R. (Clugh) Mallow. He married Deborah Lingenfelter in 1971.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years; two daughters: Jennifer Larrimore and husband Michael, and Megan Burchfield and husband James, all of Altoona; three granddaughters: Abigail, Victoria, and Isabell; a brother, Jay; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother James in 2021.
John worked his entire life at the family business, Mallow’s Service Centers Inc. in Altoona.
He was a member of Mountain Lodge No. 281 F&AM; an Honorary 33rd Degree member of AASR Valley of Altoona; and a member of the Jaffa Shriners, where he served as stage manager for many years.
John was a member of Providence Presbyterian Church and enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters, working at the Jaffa, and managing the garage.
Friends will be received from 2 – 3:30 pm, Sunday, December 28, 2025 at Providence Presbyterian Church, where a Masonic Service will immediately follow at 3:30pm, and a memorial service will follow the Masons.
