John H. Middleton

John H. Middleton, 74, Altoona, died Friday at UPMC Altoona.

He was born in Philipsburg, son of George and Eleanor (Waye) Middleton. He married Geraldine R. Decker on Sept. 24, 1961, in Philipsburg. She preceded him in death Dec. 9, 2014, after having shared 53 years of marriage.

Surviving are four daughters: Elaine Augustine (Ron), Julie Seilhamer (Bob), Paula Furman (George) and Melissa Calderwood (Rob); three sons: Brian (Christine), Paul (Allison) and Frank (Kim); 19 grandshildren; 26 great-grandchildren; a sister, Martha Kleinfelter; and a brother, Dennis Middleton.

He was a 1962 graduate of Philipsburg High School and worked at Garvey Manor as a dietary aide.

John enjoyed fishing and spending time with his pet dog, “Pooh Bear.”

Friends will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, immediately followed by a 6 p.m. funeral service, Pastor Bill Zimmerman officiating.

Interment will be at Carson Valley Cemetery, Duncansville.
