John Michael “Mike” Spidle, 59, of Duncansville, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday. He was born in Altoona, son of the late John “Jack” and Mary Lou (Burk) Spidle. He married Shelly Hazenstab in 1988.
Surviving are his wife of 37 years; two daughters: Samantha Jarrett and husband Devin, Alicia Gibson and husband Steven, all of Hollidaysburg; six sisters: Susan Rhodes, Cathy Butler, Anne Conrad, Joyce Spidle, Diane Yoder, and Carolyn Morris; a brother, Bruce; a grandson, Theodore, and granddaughter, Rowan.
He was preceded in death by a brother, David Spidle.
Mike graduated from Hollidaysburg High School and worked at Appvion for 30+ years as a machine operator. He then worked in road maintenance for PennDOT.
He was a member of the Bavarian Aid Society and St. Mary Roman Catholic Church.
Mike enjoyed spending time with his family, wood working, and watching the Steelers.
Friends will be received from 10am to 12 noon on Monday, December 30, 2024 at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, where a funeral Mass will immediately follow at 12 Noon.
Private committal at Alto Reste Park.
