John L. Morrison, 62, of Coalgate OK, passed away Wednesday at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Apple Valley, CA, son of the late Ward and Norma (Wyer) Morrison. He married Jeanette Adams in 2015.
Surviving are his wife of 7 years; three daughters: Meagan Cook, Melissa Morrison, and Katie Eckenrode; a son, Justin Morrison; six grandchildren: Damien Weatherwalk, Wyatt Weatherwalk, Max Weatherwalk, Piper Weatherwalk, Gypsy Eckenrode, and Parker Cook; four sisters: Patricia Mechura, Mary Cohea, Donna Caldwell and Gloria Smith; a brother, Joe Morrison; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Morrison.
John graduated in 1979 from Coalgate High School and earned an Associate Degree in Theology from Gateway Baptist College. He also served in the US Army from 1979 to 1983.
John enjoyed building and working on projects. He loved his grandchildren more than anything and was a dedicated Baptist all his life.
There will be no public services at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg.
