John Stump, 90, Duncansville, passed away Saturday at The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg.
He was born on Brush Mountain, Hollidaysburg, son of Cecil and Amelia (Fisher) Stump. He married Margaret Dalton on Dec. 31, 1954, in Winchester, Va. She passed away April 9, 2012, after 57 years of marriage.
Surviving are a brother, Ernest; a number of nieces and nephews; and two cousins: Sandy King of Erie and Virginia Sager of Leamersville.
John was a 1946 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and retired from PennDOT in July 1990 after 25 years as a stone testing technician.
John was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg. He loved fishing, hunting and his Chevy pickup truck.
Friends will be received from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church by Monsignor Stanley B. Carson. Committal will be at Green Lawn Cemetery, Hollidaysburg.
