John C. White

John C. White, 81, of Altoona, passed away Sunday. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Merrill and Pauline (Fluke) White.

Surviving two sons: Jeff and wife Diane of Altoona, and Troy McConnell and wife Shelbia of Richfield; nine grandchildren: Andy, Austin, Jeffrey, William, Katherine, Jake, Samantha, Justin, and Tyler; five great-greatgrandchildren: Ashtin, Adalynn, Jaxon, Maddox, and Olivia.

He was preceded in death by his long-time partner, Deborah Brown, who preceded him in death in 2023 after 34 years together; a daughter, Stephanie Dively in 2023; a granddaughter, Jerica Bickle, in 2023; and a great-grandson, Silas John Richard, in 2022.

John attended Altoona High School and served in the US Army during Korea.

He was proprietor of White’s Trash Removal and managed many rental properties.

John enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, vegetable gardening, and tinkering.
