John Oliver Young Jr.

Sept. 23, 1961 – July 26, 2025

John O. Young Jr., 63, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Altoona, son of the late John O. Sr. and LaDonna (Davis) Young. He married Susan Garland on May 2, 1981.

Surviving are his wife of 44 years; two sons: John III and Shawn; two grandsons: Parker and Xander; a sister, Kris Porta (Tony); nieces and nephews; great-nephews; a great-great niece; and his two cats: Axel and Gina.

He was preceded in death by two sisters: Kathie Bartley and LaDonna Lauver.

John was previously employed by Cummings Motors and drove tow trucks most of his life.

He enjoyed camping and spending time with his family and friends.

John will be greatly missed.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
