Joseph E. Macaluso, 89, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Friday. He was born in Patton, son of the late Michael and Minnie (Pasquale) Macaluso. He married Constance D. Slowik in 1960, who preceded him in death in 2011.
He is survived by a brother, E. Ronald, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by three sisters: Elaine Vislosky, Jennie Rose, and Rose Bodek; and two brothers: Samuel and James.
Joseph served aboard a destroyer in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the Blair County Court House as the County Auditor.
Joseph was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg.
He was a Life Member of both the Bavarian Aide Society and VFW Post 3, and was also a member of Sons of Italy Grand Lodge, Patton.
Joseph enjoyed hunting, fishing, target shooting, dancing, and going to family gatherings.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7pm Friday, January 14, 2022, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a Vigil service will be held. A funeral Mass with Military Honors will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 15, 2022, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg. Father Alan E. Thomas, Celebrant.
