Joseph L. Thomas

Joseph “Leroy” Thomas, age 68, passed away unexpectedly on Friday April 9, 2021. He was born in Tyrone, PA but lived most of his life in Altoona. He was preceded in death by his mother Isabella and his father.

He is survived by his wife, Tina of London, England; his lifetime companion, Jennie of Altoona; a daughter, Tara of Hawaii; and four sons: Joey (Heather), Tommy, Bobby (Robin), and Jeremy (Tessa), all of Altoona. He was a proud grandfather of ten grandchildren: Allana, Kayla, Kamden, Kaedan, Ethan, Kristen, Angelina, Tyler, Kyle, and Vaia; along with seven wonderful great grandkids.

Leroy spent most of his life as an over the road truck driver until he retired. He spent most of his time in retirement mastering the game of chess. He was known to enjoy a good movie and was not afraid to share his laugh with the world. He was always surrounded by many of his friends and family, including his dogs, Roxy, Rocky, and Butch. Leroy will always be remembered as a generous and kindhearted man, who had a laugh that could cheer up the world.

There will be no services at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg.
